Culture Days Manitoba is a collaborative cross Canadian volunteer movement to raise awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. The 7th annual national Culture Days weekend will feature thousands of free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind-the-scenes,” to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, designers and other creative people in their communities.

Come check out the studios at 618 Arlington on October 1st and 2nd. We will be open from 10 – 4 each day, and I will have my pottery wheel on the ready for anyone who is interested in getting their hands dirty!

The ARTlington studios house an amazing selection of Winnipeg’s talented artists. From ceramics to photography, painters to jewelry, and not to forget the amazing building itself, ARTlington is a hidden gem that has something for everyone!

Crafted at the WAG

Friday, October 28 to Saturday, October 29

1 venue • 2 days • 3 organizations • 4 floors • 5 workshops • 50+ artists

Creating and elevating the handmade is growing in Winnipeg. In partnership with Manitoba Craft Council and Nunavut Arts and Crafts Association, the WAG is embracing this exciting movement with the second-annual CRAFTED, a juried show and sale that features craft at the Gallery; highlights local artists in Manitoba and Nunavut; and incorporates a philanthropic component that ensures the handmade becomes the hand given.

In 2015, more than 3,500 browsed, bought, mingled, and learned. Over $35,000 was raised to support craft artists through initiatives that promote their art form at the WAG, and artists’ combined sales exceeded $100,000! Five art-making workshops sold out in advance and participants marvelled at their newly-acquired skills. Watch for information about this year’s DIY workshops!

Tickets $5/day • Kids under 12 free • NEW! Includes admission to WAG galleries • Tickets available online or at the door
